The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea on Friday joined by the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Daffiama-Busie-Issah (DBI), James Wor, to monitor the implementation of the Free Primary Health Care initiative in the Fian community in the Upper West Region.

The monitoring visit forms part of preparations towards the President’s Free Primary Health Care Durbar, which was held later in the day at the community.

Dr. Akoriyea was accompanied by the Upper West Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Josephat Ana-Imwine Nyuzaghl, and other health officials.

The team engaged with community members and health personnel to assess progress, identify implementation gaps, and strengthen efforts to ensure that residents have access to quality and affordable primary healthcare.

The Service remains committed to working with local authorities, health workers, and communities to ensure the successful implementation of the Free Primary Health Care initiative and advance the goal of achieving equitable healthcare access for all.
