The Mfantsiman Old Girls’ Association (MOGA) has announced the MOGA National Health Walk 2026, scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, as part of its commitment to promoting preventive healthcare, wellness and community engagement among its members.
Dubbed “The Reloaded Edition”, this year’s event will be held under the theme “Purple Steps, Healthy Hearts, One MOGA 2.0” and will take place simultaneously across several chapters in Ghana, including Accra, Takoradi, Tarkwa, Winneba/Swedru, Cape Coast, Koforidua and Kumasi, as well as international chapters in the United Kingdom and the United States.
Participants in Accra will gather at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, while other chapters will host parallel walks at designated venues across the country.
As part of the event, attendees will have access to free health screenings, including blood pressure checks, blood glucose tests, eye screening and Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments. Wellness booths and interactive sessions with healthcare professionals will also be available to promote preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyles.
This year’s edition introduces several new attractions, including inter-house games competitions with prizes and a dedicated children’s play area known as the “MOGALET Corner,” designed to provide a safe and engaging environment for children while parents participate in the event.
Participants will also enjoy live entertainment featuring a brass band and DJ performances throughout the day.
The Accra event will feature special appearances by renowned broadcaster Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, academic and author Professor Robert Ebo Hinson, and celebrated media personality Oheneyere Gifty Anti, who is a member of MOGA.
Several old students’ associations have also been invited to participate, including representatives from Adisadel College, Mfantsipim School, Wesley Girls’ High School, St. Augustine’s College, Holy Child School, Aggrey Memorial SHS, Ghana National College, Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School, Accra Academy, St. Mary’s Senior High School and Aburi Girls’ Senior High School.
MOGA President Mrs. Henrietta Opokua Amissah said the Health Walk is intended to strengthen wellness and unity among members.
“This Reloaded Edition is bigger, bolder and more connected than ever. It reflects the unstoppable strength of our global sisterhood,” she said.
The event is being supported by MOGA chapters and sponsors including TWISCO, Blue Skies, Voltic, Fan Milk Ghana, Shades of Sam, St. Michael’s Hospital and Qualicare.
