The government has begun a detailed review of the Agenda 111 health infrastructure programme following the release of an audit report, while also considering the introduction of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to manage hospital equipment nationwide.

The review was carried out during an additional two-day stakeholder engagement chaired by the Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, aimed at deepening discussions on the audit findings and aligning stakeholders on key recommendations.

The audit, conducted by Audit and Evaluation Services Limited (AESL), assessed aspects of the implementation of the Agenda 111 programme.

Stakeholders used the engagement to review the findings, seek clarification on issues raised in the report, and discuss measures to improve accountability and efficiency in the programme’s delivery.

A major focus of the discussions was the proposed establishment of an SPV management system for hospital equipment under Agenda 111.

The proposed model is expected to strengthen equipment maintenance, improve operational efficiency, and ensure better value for money across health facilities.

According to the Ministry of Health, the extended engagement reflects government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the sustainable management of public investments in the health sector as it continues the rollout of the Agenda 111 programme.
