President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to healthcare, emphasizing national ownership of health priorities while encouraging multilateral and bilateral partners to align support with Ghana’s needs.

The statement came during a courtesy call by Prof. Mohammed Janabi, World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for Africa, who is visiting Ghana from 26–27 January to support the country’s flagship health initiatives, including the Accra Reset, the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (#MahamaCares), and the planned rollout of Free Primary Health Care.

The visit also focuses on advancing health sovereignty, sustainable health system reforms, and regional collaboration, with engagements involving the Minister of Health and the CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority.
