Management of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) has paid a courtesy visit to the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) to express appreciation for the Fund’s support toward improving healthcare infrastructure at the hospital.

The delegation was led by the Director of Medical Affairs, Dr. Frank Owusu-Sekyere, who represented the Chief Executive Officer of KBTH, Dr. Yakubu Seidu Adam.

The visit followed the successful funding of a 500 KVA generator set and financial support for the installation of an elevator for the Dental and Maxillofacial Department—interventions that have significantly enhanced operational efficiency and improved access to quality healthcare for patients.

Speaking on behalf of management, Dr. Owusu-Sekyere described the support from the DACF as timely and impactful, noting that the prompt release of funds enabled the hospital to immediately procure the generator and begin preparations for the elevator installation.

As part of the visit, KBTH presented a citation to the District Assemblies Common Fund in recognition of its exemplary contribution to healthcare delivery, responsible stewardship of national resources, and commitment to community development.

Responding on behalf of the Fund, the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund, Mr. Michael Harry Yamson, expressed appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to supporting critical national institutions such as teaching hospitals.

He emphasised that healthcare delivery is a shared responsibility and pledged continued collaboration with KBTH.

Mr. Yamson also announced plans to launch a Community Partners Fund, aimed at mobilising resources from private individuals, corporate bodies, and international partners to support projects in health, education, water and sanitation, and local economic development.

Contributions made through the initiative will be tax-exempt.

The visit ended with both institutions reaffirming their commitment to sustained partnership and collaborative efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery in Ghana.

The CEO’s representative was accompanied by Mr. Munir Alhassan – Director of Administration; Rev. Aimee Esinam Akotey – Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services; Mr. Philip Tamakloe – Deputy Director, Finance; Ms. Cynthia F.
