The Ghana Medical Trust Fund has made a second financial presentation at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to support four additional patients under its pilot programme.
The beneficiaries, drawn from the Central, Northern and Greater Accra regions, are receiving treatment for brain-related conditions and cancer.
An amount of GH¢282,958.90 was formally presented to the hospital’s management to cover the cost of neurosurgical procedures and oncology care.
With this latest disbursement, the Trust Fund has now sponsored a total of eight patients at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital—comprising four neurosurgical cases and four oncology cases.
Overall, a cumulative amount of GH¢620,660.42 has so far been paid to the hospital to support the treatment of beneficiaries under the pilot phase of the programme.
Officials say the pilot initiative is aimed at ensuring timely access to critical healthcare, easing the financial burden on families, and strengthening Ghana’s healthcare delivery system.
The Fund described the support as representing lives saved, families relieved, and dignity restored, as it works toward building a responsive system that delivers quality healthcare for all Ghanaians.
