The Ghana Medical Trust Fund has begun steps toward a national partnership framework with private and quasi-government specialist hospitals aimed at expanding access to specialised healthcare for patients living with non-communicable diseases.

The initiative was formally launched during a meeting held earlier today at the Secretariat of the Trust Fund with the Chief Executive Officers of Euracare Spring Hospital, the University of Ghana Medical Centre, International Maritime Hospital Ghana Limited, and The Bank Hospital.

According to the Trust Fund, the engagement marks the first concrete step toward collaborating with health facilities that possess advanced medical equipment and specialised expertise to deliver life-saving care across the country.

The proposed partnership seeks to ensure that Ghanaians can access specialised medical services wherever they are available in the country, without financial barriers preventing patients from receiving treatment.

The framework under development is expected to guide the Ghana Medical Trust Fund’s operations for years to come, strengthening national capacity for the treatment of non-communicable diseases through public–private collaboration.
