The Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) has commenced specialist training at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) as part of efforts to roll out its digital healthcare support system, GMTFcare.

The training focuses on onboarding patients onto the software, marking a key step toward improving healthcare delivery and enhancing support for patients, particularly those living with chronic non-communicable diseases.

A team led by GMTF Administrator, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, is on-site to oversee the process and ensure a smooth implementation. IT specialists are also working to install and integrate the system to enable efficient patient data capture, claims verification, and timely delivery of care support.

The initiative is aimed at building a more patient-centered healthcare system that improves access, coordination, and responsiveness in treatment support.

The rollout at KATH is expected to serve as a model for broader implementation across the country as the GMTF advances its mission to strengthen care systems and improve outcomes for patients with long-term health conditions.
