No Shortage of Oxygen at Tamale Teaching Hospital – Management

The Management of Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) has dismissed reports of oxygen shortage at the facility.

It comes after a social media post circulating on Facebook, which alleges a shortage of oxygen at the hospital.

 A statement issued by TTH on Friday 6 March assured assure the general public that it has adequate oxygen supply to support all clinical services, and there is currently no disruption to oxygen availability within the facility.

“Management of Tamale Teaching Hospital-TTH has taken note of a social media post circulating on Facebook, which alleges a shortage of oxygen at the hospital. Management wishes to categorically assure our clients and the general public that TTH has adequate oxygen supply to support all clinical services, and there is currently no disruption to oxygen availability within the facility.

“It is important to clarify that one of the hospital’s oxygen plants is presently undergoing technical repairs. However, this development has not compromised the hospital’s ability to supply oxygen to patients. The other oxygen plants remain fully operational and continue to supply oxygen.”

“Furthermore, the hospital has enduring partnerships with other external institutions, including those mentioned in the allegation. The essence of these partnerships is such that the hospital could rely on them during down times of our oxygen plants. It must be emphasized that, as we speak, TTH does not owe any of the companies as stated,” the statement said.

According to the Hospital patient care remains uninterrupted and no clinical service has been affected due to the shortage of oxygen supply as alleged.
